Indian ambassador Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa inaugurating the 3rd anniversary celebrations of Kalabhavan Qatar recently at Doha Cinema
Doha’s prominent centre of performing arts Kalabhavan Qatar recently celebrated the third anniversary of its foundation at a well-attended function at Doha Cinema, featuring many cultural items, presented by its own trainees.
At the function lasting close to four hours, a host of items were presented by the trainees. The show featured more than 350 students.
Principal John Kurian welcomed the gathering.
Indian ambassador Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa was the chief guest and the envoy lauded the centre for introducing so many art and cultural events for students since its launch in 2008. She also launched the inter-active website of the centre (
www.kalabhavanqatar.com) at the function.
At the meeting held during the celebrations, the institution’s promoters announced their plans to launch courses in anchoring, radio jockeying, personality development and soft skill development programmes among other activities in coming months. They said kalabhavan Doha has about 1500 students undergoing lessons in dance, music, art, karate and yoga.
Kalabhavan Doha, a working affiliate of Kerala’s Kalabhavan in Kochi is being managed by Doha’s Sasco Group.
