A group of workers posing with their certificates
A group of workers engaged in the Msheireb Downtown project, has completed an IT training course offered by the project developer, Msheireb Properties.
Msheireb Properties, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, said the first group of construction workers received their certificates in October after completing six-week’s training in the Microsoft Office as well as an introductory course in IT hardware maintenance.
The developer’s IT team ran the course at the workers’ living quarters as part of the company’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce and to expand the skill set of construction workers.
Mohammed al-Marri, projects director at Msheireb Properties, said: “We are delighted with the level of participation and commitment shown by the first intake of students and look forward to expanding the programme in the future to include construction workers from outside our contractor base. Career development and skills training is an integral part of our approach to human resources and community development and, we believe in making available learning opportunities and creating the potential for advancement to all those involved in the construction of our unique development.”
The initiative is just one facet of Msheireb Properties’ comprehensive corporate social responsibility programmes, through which it aims to support employees and the wider local community.
