HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Emiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, visited Chubu Electric Power Company in the Nagoya industrial city in Japan yesterday.
Al-Attiyah and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by Chubu Electric Power Company CEO Toshio Mita and Fumio Kawaguchi, the honorary Chancellor of the Chubu Electric Power Company and a number of senior company officials.
Al-Attiyah praised the close relations with the company and its effective role in supporting the gas industry in Qatar.
Chubu Electric Power Company CEO Toshio Mita welcomed Qatar’s assistance to Japan during the Tsunami catastrophe in the form of the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) during such a crucial period.        
Meanwhile, Fumio Kawaguchi, the honorary Chancellor of the Chubu Electric Power Company praised the role al-Attiyah played for further enhancing bilateral relations and wished HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada success in his assignment.

Later al-Attiyah attended a reception hosted in his honour by Chairman of the Mitsubishi Corporation Board Yorihiko Kojima.
The party included a folkloric presentation inspired by the ancient Japanese heritage and history.
The function was attended by the delegation accompanying the Deputy Premier.
Meanwhile, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, met officials of various Japanese companies to discuss co-operation in matters of mutual concern. 
Talks dealt with ties co-operation between the two countries and means of enhancing them.  
The Japanese companies and organisations that took part in the meetings in Tokyo included Chubu Electric, Cosmo Oil, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration, UPD Bunduq, LNG Japan, and Mitsubishi.  The minister was accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Petroleum International, RasGas, Qatargas, Tasweeq and Nakilat.
