Qtel trainee technicians taking part in team building exercises at Qatar Skills Academy
Trainee technicians from Qtel completed their first week of intensive training at Qatar Skills Academy with a business game designed to develop teamwork and project planning.
Using a limited amount of everyday materials, the trainees had to create a freestanding structure which had practical, aesthetic and imaginative qualities. A 3D TV and an offshore volleyball stadium were two eye-catching winners.
Helen Kidd, head of Qatarisation and Foundation Learning at academy, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming a second cohort of Qatari trainee technicians to Qatar Skills Academy. Undertaking business games and exercises in English provides a work-related setting which reflects real life situations. It’s a creative approach to teaching and learning which motivates and encourages everyone.”
The first batch of technicians graduate today at a ceremony in Qtel headquarters, West Bay.
