In his welcome speech, FP director Dr Khalid al-Ali said:  “This is a great opportunity for students and faculty to browse a wide range of topics and books written by well-known authors.  “This year, the focus is on the importance of embracing an integrated skills approach to language learning, which offers learners the challenge to interact naturally in real-life contexts”, he explained.
The official was of the view that the publishers’ participation also helped to make the fair a successful start to the academic year.
He added that the event played an excellent role in equipping students with the means for effective communication beyond examinations and classrooms.
FPDE head Robert Kennedy said the event aimed at promoting the importance of engaging with the written word for the benefit of QU students, faculty, and the Qatar community.
