Young chess enthusiasts mastering the game

Summer activities organised by the Qatar Police Sports Federation (QPSF) for Ministry of Interior (MoI) officers’ children are set to continue until July 28, with various recreational, cultural and sports activities.
Children between 8-12 years are participating in the activities.
As part of the programme, 58 children visited Sports Excellence Academy at Hamad Sports Complex of Aspire Zone and practised swimming and some water games under the supervision of eight trainers.
Previously, they visited Al Sadd Sports Club and played several games such as tennis, chess and play station.
Last week, they visited Qatar Orphan Foundation Dhreima, and participated along with children there, in various games.
This is the fifth year in a row that the QPSF has held summer activities for the MoI officers’ children. During this programme period, children gather at Al Sadd Sports Club auditorium daily at 7am to start their activities.
Earlier they also visited Al Jazeera children’s channel, toured the modern studio and learnt about broadcasting and other technical matters involved.
The activities are supervised by first warrant officer Jassim al-Saadi and a number of trainers from the Qatar Police Sports Federation.
