Qtel’s Business Solutions Centre at the Ministry of Business and Trade Tower in Doha provides a vital service
Qtel is continuing to increase the range of services available at its network of Business Solutions Centres across Qatar, most recently increasing the level of support available at its flagship helpdesk at the Ministry of Business and Trade Tower in Doha.
The helpdesk was set up to provide streamlined processes for new start-ups, and provide a “One Stop Shop” offering technological and business support throughout Qatar.
By co-locating the support desk at the Ministry of Business and Trade premises, small businesses are able to manage both applications at the Ministry and communication requests with Qtel.
The key concept is that companies seeking business and communication support will be able to get help in a single location, reducing travel time and complexity, and stimulating local enterprise.
For example, new start-up companies can apply for all relevant permits and licences from the Ministry and at the same time apply for phone, Internet and data centre access in the same visit.
Qtel opened the first wave of Business Solutions Centres in 2009, providing a vital source of support for companies in Qatar, and enabling people to drop-in and ask questions about challenging technology and communication issues.
Now, Qtel is increasing the number of Centres, and boosting the level of support provided by each one.
With a full team of experts at each Centre, the facilities were the first of their kind to offer direct advice and consultancy in-store, as well as providing high-level business services, including BlackBerry solutions, remote connections, Ethernet, ADSL and Enterprise hosting, to visiting customers and local businesses.
The company has invested more than QR3bn in network infrastructure to provide the best possible resources for the people of Qatar, and has plans to make further investments. In addition, QR650mn  is allocated for the advanced fibre project, which is currently connecting homes and small businesses in Qatar.
Qtel’s significant contribution is one of the factors that have enabled Qatar to rise five places to the 25th position of the most networked ready-nations in the world, according to the Global Information and Technology Report 2010-2011.
