Nasser Bin Khalid yesterday launched the new Mercedes-Benz CLS and the new face-lifted C-Class at an event at Katara. The new models are the latest addition to the family of Mercedes cars available at Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles, and the launch was attended by the chairman and CEO of NBK Holding, Sheikh Nawaf bin Khaled al-Thani, officials from Mercedes-Benz and Daimler as well as other guests.
General manager of NBK Automobiles, Khaled Shaa’ban said: “This is a very momentous occasion for us here at NBK Automobiles.  The brand new CLS and the face-lifted C-Class are in a class of their own.”
“People say nothing is perfect, but we at Mercedes-Benz beg to differ -- a harmonious symbiosis between sensuality and sense, both vehicles were designed to portray the height of power and technology,” he claimed.
“This year marked the 125th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz, an illustrious milestone in the track record of the true inventor of the automobile,” he said, adding “this can only mean one thing -- innovation and creativity at its best.”
“In Qatar we are saving no effort in order to uphold this wonderful story of success and make sure that the Mercedes-Benz Qatar lives up to the global Mercedes-Benz pledge to all fans,” said Shaa’ban, explaining that the company has introduced new hi-tech communication platforms to add to the customer experience of the cars.
“NBK is the first Mercedes-Benz dealership worldwide and the first automotive company in Qatar and the rest of the GCC to implement the sophisticated QR code communications system allowing fans a gateway to a very interactive dimensional world,” he said.
The CLS, debuted in 2003, has become a favourite among drivers in Qatar and the region, and the stylish car has been identified as NBK’s flagship car for the year.
“The new CLS reconciles reason and emotion -- the four door coupe combines timeless elegance with expressive design,” said Shaa’ban, noting “passionate form meets impressive technologies -- effortlessly sportiness is paired with an innovative safety concept.”
The C-Class has also been popular among drivers in Qatar, and the face-lifted cars present a new look to an established model.  Most of the noticeable changes are on the front of the car, where a new grille, new headlights and updated bumper give the C-Class a fresh face.
However the C-Class has also undergone a number of changes under its skin, including new technology , safety features and other additions.
“Innovation has always been the key to success for a car manufacturer and is set to become even more important in the future,” added Shaa’ban.
