Japanese Ambassador Kenjiro Monji has thanked Qatar for its support and assistance after an earthquake and a tsunami struck Japan in March. “The state of Qatar has provided invaluable support and assistance to Japan,” the ambassador said at a dinner organised by Qatar Charity. “The donation of $100mn to support Japan’s reconstruction efforts by the initiative of HH the Emir was widely reported in Japan and highly appreciated,” he said. “In Qatar we received from many people, groups and organisations condolences, encouraging messages as well as kind donations to help the victims of the disaster. The Qatar Charity’s dinner is another example of such kind and generous acts.”
