Arms and ammunition collected under the UN-backed programme ‘Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration’ (DDR) are on display in Paktia, Afghanistan, yesterday. In order to strengthen peace and security in the country, the government has initiated collecting arms from illegally armed persons across the country, most of them loyal to warlords.
