ExxonMobil Qatar announced its support for the Qatar Cycling Federation as the Gold Jersey Sponsor of the 2013 Ladies Tour of Qatar and 2013 Tour of Qatar for the fourth consecutive year. The Ladies Tour of Qatar will take place from January 29 to February 1, 2013 while the Tour of Qatar will be held from February 3 to 8, 2013.

Kicking off at Katara Cultural Village in Doha, the 12th edition of the Tour of Qatar will consist of six stages and will cover a total distance of 732.5 kilometers. Eighteen teams of eight riders will compete for gold, silver and pearl white jerseys as they battle for the finish line on the Corniche.

“ExxonMobil is proud to once again support the Qatar Cycling Federation as sponsors of this flagship event,” said Bart Cahir, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.

“Qatar has established itself as a world-class destination for international sporting events, and in doing so, is highlighting its role as a global business and investment hub.  At ExxonMobil, we also see tremendous value in utilising events such as the Tour of Qatar to promote active lifestyles to ultimately create a healthier community.”

“As always, ExxonMobil is demonstrating their role as an active member of our community, and we sincerely thank them for their continued support of our organisation and our signature events,” said Sheikh Khalid bin Ali al-Thani, President of Qatar Cycling Federation.

“Every year, top cyclists from around the world come to Qatar to compete in this tour, and as we celebrate the 12th anniversary of the race, we have big ambitions for this year.  Ongoing support from organisations like ExxonMobil makes it possible to continually raise the bar with international sporting events in Qatar.”
