As part of the on-going upgrade of 4G services across Qatar, Ooredoo customers can now enjoy access to the ultrafast 4G Mobile Broadband network on any of the available Shahry mobile broadband plans.
To access Ooredoo’s 4G network, Shahry customers can subscribe to the 1GB, 3GB, 6GB or unlimited mobile broadband plans, and choose the ‘4G Key’.
In addition, Ooredoo has reduced the price of its popular 4G My-Fi device from QR999 to QR629 – a price reduction of QR370 – so that more people can experience 4G Internet speeds.
The My-Fi hotspot enables customers to connect up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
Ooredoo’s 4G service has proven to be incredibly popular since its launch in April and the increased availability across all Shahry mobile broadband plans now means that more people can access the service.
The 4G network is currently accessible on any 4G USB modem or My-Fi that supports Ooredoo’s 4G frequencies (800 and 2,600 MHz).
By providing connection speeds that are three-to-six times faster than the 3G network, 4G enables customers to have faster access to information, stream HD video, transfer large files, and quickly update social media.
Customers can subscribe to 4G at any Ooredoo shop, while existing Shahry Mobile Broadband customers can simply send the SMS “4G” to 114 or call the Ooredoo Call Centre on 111.
As well as increasing the range of plans that can be used with 4G, Ooredoo has also continued to work on the Middle East’s fastest-ever roll-out of the ultrafast service.
The 4G network now covers all of Doha and Al Wakrah, and has added coverage in three more cities over the past few months.
In addition to Doha and Al Wakrah, 4G is now available in Dukhan, Shahaniya and Sumaysimah.
Customers can also use 4G at the Sealine Beach Resort, which has been especially popular during weekends, and at the Losail International Circuit during major racing events.

Since launching the 4G Long-Term-Evolution (LTE) network, Ooredoo has increased the number of base sites by 150%, more than doubling network coverage in order to provide the best customer experience.
Ooredoo plans to cover all inhabited areas of Qatar by the first half of 2014, providing the most comprehensive coverage on the strongest network in Qatar.
