HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani congratulates Italian jockey Frankie Dettori after he rode Golden Horn to victory in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe race at Longchamp in Paris on Sunday. Holden Horn upset favourite Treve to win the prestigious race. After the race, Dettori commented: “I am extremely grateful to HE Sheikh Joaan for letting me continue to ride Golden Horn during the course of this season. It was a very sporting gesture to greet me so graciously after Golden Horn won the Arc and Treve remains a legend. I couldn’t be more pleased with how this season has gone and I am very thankful to Al Shaqab for their continued support.” Treve, winner in 2013 and 2014, finished fourth. Dettori won the Arc de Triomphe in 1995, 2001 and 2002. Treve is one of seven horses to win the race twice, while Dettori becomes the seventh jockey to claim it four times.
