The Qatar 2015 Organising Committee yesterday announced Al Siddiqi Holding as an ‘Official Partner’ of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship.

A Qatar-based multinational business company, Al Siddiqi Holding will support the championship with official uniforms and traditional Qatari attire such as thobes, abayas and shaylas for the team-members and volunteers of the mega sporting event, set to take place in Doha from January 15, 2015.

At an official ceremony yesterday, Nasser al-Sulaiti, Executive Committee Member, Qatar 2015 Organising Committee and Mohammed al-Siddiqi, Vice Chairman, Al Siddiqi Holding signed a contract of mutual agreement.

Sulaiti said: “We have reached this partnership with the support of Dr Thani Abdulrahman al-Kuwari, Director General, Qatar 2015 and are pleased to be working with Al Siddiqi Holdings, a company that has such a strong presence in the State of Qatar.

“The uniforms they provide will help us to deliver a memorable visitor experience at the Championship, and will contribute to making it a truly world-class event. Uniforms signify a shared purpose, bring a sense of identify and provide an important visual element of large-scale events such as the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship.”

Siddiqi said: “We are proud to be a partner of the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship and aim to contribute to Qatar’s 2030 national vision by supporting its efforts to host sporting mega-events. Supporting such an amazing event, where players will be giving their best to succeed, is the perfect illustration of our vision – ‘Believe, Achieve, and Succeed’.”

The Qatar 2015 Organising Committee is working with a number of leading Qatari businesses as part of its efforts to ensure a lasting legacy from hosting the Championship. As well as promoting national brands to an international audience, the Committee is also instituting best practice in partnership with local organisations that can be tapped for future global events held in Qatar.

In return for its support, Al Siddiqi will benefit through brand exposure, both during game time with floor stickers and LED in the field of play, and prior to the Championships, by being featured in Qatar 2015’s regional and global advertising campaigns.

During the competition, Al Siddiqi Holding will also be present in each of the venues with retail outlets to enhance the Championship experience of local and international visitors.

The 24th Men’s Handball World Championship will take place in Doha from 15 January to 1 February 2015. With the participation of 24 countries from all over the world, the biennial Men’s Handball World Championship is the biggest and one of the most important international events in Olympic sport.
