The third round of the Qatar Superbike (QSBK) and fourth round of Qatar Challenge (QCH) will take place this weekend at Losail International Circuit.

The leader of the QSBK, with 85 points, is the defending three-time champion Alex Cudlin, riding a Kawasaki ZX-10R. Cudlin’s teammate, Nina Prinz, is in third place in the standings with 61 points.

“I am very excited to take part in this round as I will be riding a new Suzuki bike which came from Germany and I hope to compete better with Alex and Nasser in the front, Prinz said. Qatari rider Nasser al-Malki is second overall with 67 points on a BMW.

Together with the QSBK there will be also another round of the Losail Asia Road Racing Series. The leader of the LARRS is the female rider from Serbia, Manca Katrasnik with 70 points. Three more female riders will join this round: Hannah Bader from Lebanon, Victoria Kis from Hungary and the American Shelina Moreda.

In the cars’ category, David Walker (Honda) is heading the standings with 76 points while Peter De Vido is in second place with 49.

Races will be held tomorrow.

“We are very happy to have another round of these championships at Losail with the presence of more women participating in the events,” said Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah, QMMF President and LIC General Manager.

“We support women in motorsport and are delighted to host next week the 1st Women in Motorsport Seminar in Middle East that will take place together with the opening round of the 2014 FIA Middle East Rally Championship, the Qatar International Rally.”
