Doha

Strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas on Friday, the weather office has said.

There is no further forecast for rain with the Qatar Met department stating, on its Twitter page Thursday evening, that the skies had cleared up over the country, leading to stable weather conditions.

Earlier Thursday, isolated rain was reported from some parts of the country. On Wednesday, a heavy downpour had affected normal life across the country, including in Doha.

Friday, inshore areas will see hazy to misty conditions in some places at first, to be followed by a moderate temperature during the day with some clouds. It will be relatively cold by night, according to the weather report.

Offshore areas will be partly cloudy and the wind speed will range from 15kt to 22kt.

Visibility, meanwhile, may drop to 3km or less in the early hours of the day.

The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country, including Doha, are expected to be 19C and 27C, respectively.

Meanwhile, some roads and open spaces in the country continued to be waterlogged yesterday, a day after Qatar received more rain over a 24-hour period than what it usually gets through the year.

The Met department had forecast unstable weather in the country from Monday until yesterday evening due to a low pressure system.
