Top officials of Alfardan Automobiles and BMW Group Middle East at the launch of the all-new BMW 7 Series in Qatar.

Alfardan Automobiles, the importer of BMW Group in Qatar, has launched the sixth generation BMW 7 Series at an event attended by hundreds of guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Ihab Allam, general manager of Alfardan Automobiles, described the all-new BMW 7 Series as “a true game changer in the luxury car market, one that will make a big impact in Qatar as the car includes so many industry first features that set it way apart from any competitor models”.
Johannes Seibert, managing director for BMW Group Middle East, pointed out that the Middle East has long been an important market for the BMW 7 Series, as the third largest in the world.
“The flagship model is constantly one of the top sellers account for between 16 to 20% of total sales. The all-new 7 Series brings with it a new meaning to the expression ‘Sheer driving pleasure’. The sixth generation model embodies the true essence of modern mobility, with the highest quality and absolute precision. We have created a unique balance of cutting-edge technology, connectivity and comfort to fulfil our vision of modern luxury,” he explained.
A host of new BMW ConnectedDrive driver assistance features include the intuitive Touch Command: a 7-inch tablet positioned in the rear of the vehicle, offering passengers a completely new experience in controlling multiple in-car functions. Through Touch Command, rear passengers are able to control in-car infotainment and comfort features, such as the new BMW 7 Series Vitality Programme, which offers luxurious in-seat massage options. A unique Gesture Control function, which offers those inside the vehicle with the option to increase the volume of the radio only by gesturing at the screen, is also one of the new technology features.
Driver and passengers alike can also look forward to the BMW 7 Series’ Sky Lounge, a panorama glass roof welcoming them to enjoy the day or star-filled night sky, as illuminated light patterns provide a luxurious interior light ambience in six colours.
The vehicle’s advanced chassis technology allows the driver to adjust the car’s set-up to their preferred requirements, creates an ideal balance between sports performance and comfort. Similarly, the vehicle’s progressive Driver Assistance Systems, including Lane Control Assistance, ensures drivers do not have to change the customary positioning of their hands on the steering wheel in order to undertake on-road manoeuvres.
The new model also comes with two comprehensively revised engines: the 6 cylinder 740iLi and 8 cylinder 750iLi xDrive, with the latter accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds at 450hp, and the 6 cylinder equivalent offering an impressive 326hp, with a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1 380 rpm. The on-road performance of both variants is enhanced through the incorporation of BMW EfficientDynamics, such as the premium vehicle’s lightweight Carbon Core, which ensures that the car is 130kg lighter than its predecessor.
