HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, accompanied by HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani and other officials, visiting the Labaib Health Centre yesterday.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday visited Labaib Health Centre to inspect the progress of the new project being carried out by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).
HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit.
Ashghal President and senior engineer Nasser Ali Mawlawi and other officials briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of the construction work of the new health centre which is nearing completion.  
Engineer Mawlawi said the Prime Minister’s visit to inspect the project is part of the Qatar government’s commitment to support key healthcare projects to meet needs of citizens and residents.
“The Premier inspected the work completed on the ground floor and interiors of the health centre where currently equipment is undergoing tests before it is handed to the Primary Health Centre. HE the Prime Minister’s visit was to observe the development work of the health centre and the State’s initiative to support all ministries and entities responsible to complete the project as per plan, quality and standards,” the Ashghal president said.
The health centre spread over 17,165 metres with a total built-up area of 8,747 square metres in addition to a two-level basement of 23,659 square metres.   
It is designed as model healthcare centre for medical professionals, doctors and staff to work in a comfortable environment to attend to patients and visitors.
Labaib Health Centre features clinics for men and women patients. It has a dental clinic as well as specialty departments like radiology, laboratory and pharmacy located on the ground and first floors.
The facade of the centre has creative glass engraving art and distinctive umbrellas at the main entrance.
The basement has a 2,216-sq m area for people to relax, recreational facilities like health club, massage parlours, swimming pool and a separate facility which will provide care for pregnant women.
The health centre is designed with multiple entry and exit points for visitors’ vehicles and separate entrances for ambulances and healthcare staff.
The basement parking bay accommodates 404 cars besides 83 parking spots with awnings on the ground floor. The centre also includes services buildings and garage for ambulances.
