The stretch of Dukhan Highway which has been reopened for traffic. The bridge forms part of the temporary truck road between Lusail and Salwa.

A nearly 1.5 km stretch of the Dukhan Highway leading towards Doha has reopened to traffic after being  closed for a few months, according to an Ashghal statement.
It said the traffic which was previously diverted through the service road south of Dukhan Road has  been redirected to the newly completed section.
Ashghal authorities have said that redirecting the traffic through the newly renovated section on the main Dukhan Road will significantly improve the traffic flow by providing four lanes in each direction.
The authority has completed around 67% of the construction works on the Dukhan Highway Central project which is due to be completed in the last quarter of next year.
Ashghal is keen to ensure commuters benefit from the completed sections of its projects. "This is why Ashghal is directly redirecting the traffic flow to the original Dukhan Highway once the stretch of road has been completed", said an Ashghal official.
This forms an integral part of a good planning system in implementing expressway projects and reducing the effects on the traffic flows. "This also makes it possible to benefit from the use of newly completed sections rather than waiting for the whole project to be completed," said the official, adding that it could take up to two years for projects such as the Dukhan Highway Central to complete.
The Dukhan project includes the construction of a new expressway stretching west of the existing Al Wajba intersection and ending one kilometre east of Al Shahaniyah town. The project also comprises a 15 km dual carriageway with four lanes in each direction and grade separated interchanges.
Once fully complete, the Dukhan Highway Central Project is expected to significantly improve the traffic flow between Dukhan and central Doha.
It will also provide additional lanes in each direction for more reliable and safer journeys.
The project will also include a two-lane cycle track.
