Council call to restore original speed limit
A number of Advisory Council members have recommended the restoration of the original speed limit of 100km/h on the 22nd February Street, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported. On Monday, the Advisory Council held its weekly regular meeting of the 43rd ordinary session. It discussed a report by the council’s Interior and External Affairs Committee on amending some  provisions of Traffic Law No 19 for 2007.  The council decided to raise its recommendations before the Cabinet.

‘Major’ military manoeuvre
Egypt and Saudi Arabia have discussed holding a “major military manoeuvre” in Saudi Arabia with other Gulf states and will form a joint military committee to look into the matter further, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement. It said the topic was discussed during a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Saudi Defence Minister Prince Mohamed bin Salman in Cairo yesterday.

Qatari aid to Yemeni people
At the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, two planes left Doha yesterday, carrying aid to the Yemeni people, the official Qatar News Agency said. The Qatari Rescue Team (Lekhwiya) will deliver the aid, including 66 tonnes of food stuff and medicines, through the Djibouti–Ambouli International Airport to Yemeni officials.
