HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday met with a number of senior US officials and members of the Senate at the Congress. The meetings reviewed bilateral relations and the prospects for developing joint co-operation.
The Emir also attended a reception hosted by members of the Society of Qatar Friends at the Congress (the American-Qatari Caucus), at the Congress premises.
Talks at the reception dealt with a number of topics of mutual interest, especially consolidation of co-operation and friendship between the two countries.
The Emir expressed thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the excellent relations between Qatar and the United States. He emphasised the continuation of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, particularly investment.
Views on a number of regional and international issues were exchanged to enhance US-Qatari positions towards them.
The members of the Society welcomed the Emir, praising the strong relations between the two countries.
