Doha Bank has announced that it will host its 10th Al Dana Green Run at Aspire Zone on Saturday (November 29).

This year, Doha Bank is further enhancing the scope of the annual event by opening up participation to a group of workers in order to ensure that the event welcomes people of all ages and from all levels of society.

The 10th Al Dana Green Run will kick off at 1pm and cover a 3km circuit around Khalifa Stadium as it gathers men, women, children and families from around the country who will put their best foot forward for a cleaner, greener tomorrow,
according to a statement.

Held every year with the aim of raising public awareness about environmental conservation and promoting the concept of green living, Al Dana Green Run is hosted by Doha Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Public Security, Traffic and Patrol Department, Qatar Red Crescent and Aspire Academy, as well as Qatar Olympic Committee and the Qatar Athletics Federation.

Alongside its focus on environmental protection, the 10th Al Dana Green Run will also promote the cause of road safety awareness in support of the national campaign for road
accident prevention.

Commenting on the event, Doha Bank Group CEO Dr R Seetharaman said: “The Al Dana Green Run forms part of our ongoing campaign to build environmental awareness among the community and encourage people to think green. The green run offers an engaging platform for people from different walks of life to come together each year in support of environmentally responsible practices, at the same time driving home the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

“This year’s green run will be the biggest ever; to celebrate the event’s 10th anniversary, we have put together an enhanced agenda that will include as many as 10 race categories catering to different age groups and social segments, with plenty of cash prizes up for grabs.

“The Al Dana Green Run stands as a shining example of various government and private entities joining hands to promote the welfare of the community, and we would like to thank the Ministry of Interior, the Traffic and Patrol Department, the athletics federation and other partners for their continuous support in ensuring the event’s success. We also extend our hearty congratulations to the athletics federation on securing the hosting rights for the World Athletics Championships 2019.”

The 10th Al Dana Green Run will see participation from a cross-section of the community, including professionals and homemakers, sports enthusiasts and members of various
socio-cultural groups.

The Al Dana Green Run forms part of Doha Bank’s commitment to supporting the national campaign for Go Green Qatar. Through the green run, Doha Bank seeks to encourage people to save resources, just as they save in their Al Dana accounts, the statement adds.
