Court hears case of money laundering by woman

A Doha court is hearing a case of international money laundering, in which an Asian expatriate woman is accused of illegally handling a sum of QR3mn, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.. The woman used to work as sterilisation technician at Hamad Medical Corporation. The experts’ report submitted at the court, revealed that the sum of QR3mn in her bank account could never have been her own money, as her monthly income did not justify it. Further, the report said that there are various indications that the woman is involved in international money laundering. It said that the accused used to receive various sums of money from overseas and thereafter transferred them again, after deducting a certain sum for herself. Besides, she used to receive the money in her account and transfer them in a short time to persons she could not identify.
