HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri met the Judiciary Chief in Iran, Amoli Larijani, in Tehran, on Sunday.

They discussed issues of mutual concern and means of strengthening judicial and legal co-operation between Qatar and Iran.

The meeting was attended by Iran’s Chairman of the Human Rights Committee and Assistant Attorney General Ali Sadeq Larijani, and directors of Iranian legal departments.

Dr al-Marri also met the Iranian Attorney General Ibrahim Ribisi to discuss co-operation between the offices of the attorneys general in Doha and Tehran.

Dr al-Marri also held talks with former Iranian president and head of Iran’s Expediency Council Hashemi Rafsanjani.

They exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.

He also held talks with Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi and his aides to discuss a number of matters of mutual concern including academic and legal training, exchange of expertise in addition to the future of co-operation between the two countries in legal and judicial fields.

He gave a briefing on the judicial legislations in Qatar and the mechanism of the separation of authorities according to the Qatari law.

The meetings were attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Iran Ali bin Hamad al-Sulaiti and members of the delegation accompanying the Attorney General.
