As part of Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture, Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) hosted a photography exhibition and reception in London recently.

The event enabled QPI to network with its stakeholders in London, providing a venue to showcase the company’s investments, achievements and to strengthen its relationship with its partners. Attendees included Yousef bin Ali Yousef al-Khater, Qatari ambassador to the UK and Northern Ireland and ambassador of Brazil Roberto Jaguaribe, along with QPI executives and representatives from the company’s joint ventures in the UK.

The event was lit up in lighting inspired by colours of both Qatar and Brazil with a projection of the QPI and QB logos. The evening displayed Qatar and Brazil’s heritage through a photography exhibition titled ‘Qatar-Brazil: A Journey from the Amazon to the Desert.’ It featured captivating photographs of landscapes and people of Brazil, taken by Qatari photographers on an expedition across the country in March, which was carried out as part of the QPI-sponsored Qatar-Brazil 2014 Year of Culture.

“This event honours the bilateral relationships and business partnerships QPI has formed in supporting Qatar on its journey towards achieving its National Vision 2030,” said Nasser al-Jaidah, chief executive officer, Qatar QPI.

“Following our investment in an oil producing asset in Brazil known as BC-10, QPI is proud to be a part of the platinum sponsor of the Year of Culture which celebrated the UK in 2013 and Brazil in 2014. This initiative allows us to go beyond our economic ties and to develop strong cultural and diplomatic ties in the countries where we operate.”
