The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé ‘Oud Edition’, a one-of-a-kind Bespoke vehicle created especially for Qatar, has arrived at the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha showroom on The Pearl-Qatar.

Inspired by Oud, the enchanting scent of Arabia, the beautiful model was conceptualised by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Doha, part of Alfardan Group and the sole dealer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in Qatar, before being hand-crafted by specialists at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England.

Highlighting the exclusivity and unique nature of the ultra-luxury marque’s renowned Bespoke Programme, the model, which was 18 months in the making, has already prompted strong interest from local automotive enthusiasts seeking the pinnacle in luxury and individualisation.

Made from the oil extracted from the tropical Agar tree, Oud is believed to have originated in the Assam region of India, and from there spread throughout Southeast Asia. It has been used in the Middle East and beyond as incense, aromatic oil and medicine for thousands of years, and today is highly valued by perfumers for its sweet, woody, aromatic and complex scent. Etched in the region’s rich heritage, it is therefore apt that the ‘Oud Edition’ pays homage to this age old Middle Eastern tradition.

“Oud is one of the oldest fragrances in existence, with the oil often termed as liquid gold due to its rarity, high demand and the fact that it is estimated to be worth 1.5 times the value of gold,” explained Mohamed Kandeel, chief operating officer, Alfardan Group - Automotive Division.

“The synergies with Rolls-Royce are clear; our vehicles are unique, aspirational and synonymous with pioneering heritage. This car is a celebration of those shared qualities.”

A host of delicate touches have been added to the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé to bring the spirit of Oud alive in this remarkable edition. The vehicle is presented in a dark colour combination, featuring a solid black and autumn mystery black exterior and dark spice interior, including a centre console trimmed in Ostrich leather.

The Oud emblem features throughout the vehicle’s design, beautifully incorporated into a bespoke single and twin coachline in Gold and within the inlays that decorate the Fascia and rear switch pack. It is also embroidered on the front and rear headrests and dark spice footmats. Another bespoke touch is an Oud scent storage box and glass container within the dark spice glove box.

“Rolls-Royce is the luxury carmaker of choice for the connoisseur who demands the best in individualisation,” observed Kandeel. “Through the Bespoke Programme, customers can customise almost every aspect of the vehicle to their cultural and individual liking, and essentially make the world’s greatest car even more unique. This unparalleled creativity available to local buyers is illustrated perfectly by the Phantom Coupé ‘Oud Edition’ - an innovative and prestigious vehicle that we are proud to deliver to our discerning customers.” The Phantom is Rolls-Royce’s flagship model.
