Work is progressing on a Workers Hospital and Integrated Health Centre project in the Mesaieed Industrial City.

It is scheduled to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2016, as announced by the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) earlier.

The Workers Hospital and Integrated Health Centre project  is one of the three upcoming full-fledged hospitals exclusively for single workers.

The other two are being built in Doha’s Industrial Area and Ras Laffan. All the three facilities are set for completion by April 2016.

The new hospitals will include outpatient clinics, ambulance services, operation theatres, radiology department, laboratories and all the other necessary services. They will also have independent health centres in addition to a unit of the Medical Commission.

These projects are part of the SCH’s plans to create a network of hospitals and health centres to provide integrated services for expatriate workers.

Upon completion of the projects, the SCH will appoint three operators from the private sector to run the hospitals. All the fees for the services provided by the hospitals will be paid through the Social Health Insurance System.
