The General Directorate of Civil Defence has conducted drills at three different points -- Abdulla AbdulGhani and Brothers Co. (Toyota) Al Khor branch and Qatar National Bank branches at Wakrah and Mesaieed-- as part of efforts to enhance fire safety awareness among the public. The ambulance team also took part in the operations. Civil Defence Evacuation officer Capt. Khamis Salim al-Sowaidi said that the mock operations had made major progress on fire safety awareness. He added that the drills were conducted as part of the GDCD’s plans to create awareness about safety measures and train the staff of various institutions on how to address risks during a fire.
