HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Chile’s President Michelle Bachelet on the occasion of the anniversary of her country’s Independence Day.

 

Minister gets
Turkey message

HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari yesterday received a message from his Turkish counterpart Omer Celik. Turkish Ambassador Ahmet Demirok handed the message to the minister during meeting. They discussed bilateral relations in the cultural fields and means to enhance them.

 

Ties reviewed

 

HE the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al-Kuwari met in Doha yesterday with US Ambassador Dana Shell Smith. During the meeting, they exchanged views on a number of topics of common interest.

lQatar’s Ambassador to Macedonia, Hassan Abdulla Zaid al-Mahmoud met in Skopje yesterday with President of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov. During the meeting they discussed bilateral ties and means to bolster them.

 

Road diversion

 

The Public Works Authority Ashghal has announced a traffic diversion from tomorrow on the West Industrial Street in the direction from Roundabout 10 towards Roundabout 2. The other direction of the street was widened to become a two-way street.

 

Physiotherapy
forum to hold
event today

 

The Indian Physiotherapy Forum Qatar (IFPQ) will celebrate the World Physiotherapy Day today at an event at Spice Boat Restaurant in West Bay.

Lolwa al-Mohannadi, assistant executive director for Rehabilitation Services, Rumailah Hospital, will inaugurate the event.

Dr Mazhar Faud, arthroscopic surgeon, orthopaedic team, Hamad Medical Corporation, will give a scientific lecture.

IFPQ brings together Indian physiotherapists working in Qatar to promote the contributions their profession has made to the modern medical practice.

The theme of this year’s World Physiotherapy Day is ‘Fit to take part.’
