All arrangements are in place at Hamad International Airport (HIA) to complete the immigration process in the shortest possible time for Qatar residents returning from vacation and for newcomers to the country, a senior official has said. “The end of summer vacation witnesses a substantial increase in passenger arrivals and we are fully prepared to meet the rush,” Lt Col Mohamed Rashid al-Mazroue, director of the Passports Department at HIA, explained. The staff members manning the immigration counters are highly trained to complete the passport screening and iris scan as quickly as possible, he added. HIA can handle 6,000 passengers per hour.
