The project, which QRC carried out in co-operation with Jerusalem Zakat Committee, is divided into two parts: first, the distribution of daily Iftar meals over two weeks in the courtyard of the mosque, where more than 3,000 fasting people take Iftar. QRC will continue to provide these meals until the 28th of this month.

The second part of the project involves to the distribution of food baskets to needy families in the city of Jerusalem and a number of towns and villages on the outskirts of the holy city, including villages located northwest of Jerusalem, Al-Ayzariya, Abu Dis, Sawahra, Anata, and the Shuafat refugee camp. In these areas 770 food baskets were distributed for families of nearly 3,850 people.

The Jerusalem Zakat Committee thanked Qatar Red Crescent and praised its efforts to do good, support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering, especially in Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque.
