International coaches from the Ooredoo-sponsored Paris Saint-Germain team are set to hold football training sessions for Qatar children from April 20 to 24, it has been announced.

“We are thrilled to announce our football training sessions because this is an excellent opportunity to not only bring the skills of one of the most popular football clubs in the world to Qatar, but also inspire the next generation to get active in 2014 and follow their dreams,” said Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, Ooredoo director of Community & Public Relations.

Al-Kuwari said the “Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo” will be available for children aged eight to 16 years.

She added that Ooredoo is giving customers a chance to win a place for their child to be part of the academy via a special Paris Saint-Germain social media competition.

To enter the competition, parents need to post a 15-second video of their child playing football on Ooredoo’s official Instagram page using #OoredooParisSaintGermain. The deadline for uploading the videos is on April 20.

The Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo is part of the company’s 2014 sports campaign, which started in January with a host of events such as the Ooredoo Marathon and the National Sport Day activities and fixtures held around the sporting competitions of Ooredoo’s brand ambassador, Nasser al-Attiyah.

The academy will also be open to the public for coaching sessions of up to four hours each. The training camp has an enrolment fee of QR1,295 per participant. Only limited slots are available, al-Kuwari noted.

She said the registration fee is inclusive of a Paris Saint-Germain football kit by Nike, football shirt, shorts and socks. A certificate will also be issued to the trainees on completion of their course.

Customers whose entries were not selected can buy a slot in the academy by calling the Reservation and Registration Department at 66224800 or e-mail [email protected]
