The 5th edition of the Qatar International Businesswomen Forum, which will be held on December 16 and 17 at the St Regis Doha Hotel in Qatar, will include new discussions on human development, women empowerment, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and entrepreneurship.

With a total of five sessions throughout the two-day event, there will also be keynote speeches in between sessions that will be delivered by distinguished personalities from the public and private sector, who will elaborate on the widening opportunities for women to be among the future business and socio-political leaders of society. There will also be success stories of women from different fields and workshops that will address topics that are important to business women.

A one and a half hour session on the Qatar National Vision 2030 plan will open the functions of the Forum. This session will highlight Qatar’s ambitious national journey of human development and sustainable economic diversification built on human capital.

It will also touch upon the plan’s Economic Development and Responsible Growth objectives, as well as that on women empowerment and their increasing role in the economic, political and cultural development of the country.

The second session will then dwell on the topic of ‘Businesswomen as innovators and entrepreneurs continuing update on opportunities, challenges, skills and success’.

The forum’s second day begins with the third session, which will touch on the topic of ‘Businesswomen and corporate social responsibility (CSR)’. This will be followed by the fourth session on ‘Social responsibility strategies for reducing poverty, generating investment and trade, and improving business performance’. On both sessions, a number of key people from the region and beyond will discuss the latest trends and strategies on CSR.

The forum then closes with its fifth and final session on ‘Social innovation in principle and practice: Does it have a meaningful impact’.

Organised by the Qatari Businesswomen Association in collaboration with Interactive Business Network, the main theme of the forum will be ‘Businesswomen and the new age of innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility’.
