Students from 12 girls' primary schools nationwide took part in the inaugural Sports for All Athletics Championship, organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and hosted by Maymouna Bint Al Harith Primary School for Girls.The tournament was part of QSFA's efforts to expand sports participation among schoolchildren, promote physical activity, encourage students to participate in sports, strengthen their physical and athletic capabilities, and foster the values of competition and sportsmanship.The event featured a range of track and field contests, with students representing Al Thumama, Al Huda, Al Khwarizmi, Mesaimeer, Amna Mahmoud Al Jaidah, Al Taawun, Al Shamal, Halima Al Saadia, Maryam Bint Imran, Khadija, Moza Bint Mohammed and Maymouna Bint Al Harith primary schools for girls. QSFA Executive Director Abdullah Al Dosari emphasized that the inaugural event drew broad participation, underscoring the public's strong interest in school sports. He stressed the importance of providing more opportunities for girls to practice sports and hone their skills from the early school years.Al Dosari highlighted that the championship was part of the longstanding cooperation between QSFA and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, along with their shared commitment to integrating sports into school campuses.He added that QSFA has remained committed to organizing tours and sports programs in lockstep with educational initiatives, primarily targeting students across various grade levels and age groups.School programs aren't confined to exercise, Al Dosari noted, but go beyond that to familiarize students with the importance of physical activity and encourage them to choose the sports that best suit their interests, inclinations and abilities, while also identifying promising talents at an early age so they can be further developed and honed.Al Dosari went on to clarify that ongoing programs and school visits help strengthen direct engagement with students and provide them with opportunities to practice sports on campus, thereby reinforcing the concept of sports as a lifestyle.
