The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change's patrols of the Land Protection Department has recorded an environmental violation in Wadi Al Waab in the northern area. The incident involved an individual discharging wastewater from an industrial facility into non-designated desert areas, causing damage to the vegetation and its natural components. The ministry’s teams took the necessary legal measures against the offender and referred the case to the competent authorities.The ministry exerts continuous efforts to protect Qatar’s environment, preserve the integrity of ecosystems and vegetation cover, and enforce monitoring policies against any environmental violations to protect the wildlife and natural resources from all potential forms of pollution.Such behaviour constitutes a clear violation of the environmental laws and regulations of the country, designed to safeguard natural resources and prevent any practices that could lead to environmental degradation or threaten the safety of the country’s biodiversity. The ministry has encouraged the immediate reporting of any environmental violations through the official channels designated for this purpose, affirming its continued commitment to intensify monitoring campaigns and field patrols across all parts of the country to detect and prevent any unlawful practices to maintain a clean and safe environment for the present and future generations.
