The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) issued Administrative Decision No. (01-2026) ordering the administrative closure of Al-Sawaed Al-Qatariya Contracting, Transport and Trading Company for a period of 30 days for violating the provisions of Law No. (5) of 2017 regulating the handling of subsidised goods. According to the ministry, the decision followed the detection of goods present at the establishment that had not been registered in the approved electronic system. In addition, the distributor was found in possession of ration cards and subsidised goods in violation of the applicable laws and regulations, constituting a clear breach that undermines the rights of beneficiaries of subsidised goods. This measure forms part of ongoing efforts to monitor markets and ensure that suppliers comply with the laws and regulations in force. Authorities stressed that any practices that harm the rights of beneficiaries of subsidised goods or violate the applicable regulatory framework will not be tolerated. The public was also urged to report any violations or illegal practices through the following channels: Call Centre: 16001MoCI social media accounts: @MOCIQATAR
