Jockey Olivier d’Andigne registered a quick-fire double as guided Never Simple to Al Uqda Cup victory at the Al Uqda Racecourse yesterday.Osama Omer E al-Dafea-owned and trained bay colt, in his second run in Qatar, defeated Hamad Ahmed Hassan al-Malki al-Jehani-owned Waqif by a quarter of a length to win the 1300m race for two-year-olds thoroughbreds. Fahad Nasser AE al-Romaihi’s Full Gambit finished third.In his first meeting in Qatar, Never Simple came eighth in the thoroughbred maiden plate (Class 6) during the 10th meeting of the season at the Al Rayyan racecourse for Al Ghashamiah Cup on November 23. The race was won by Full Gambit and Waqif finished third.In the penultimate race of the day, Olivier d’Andigne rode Al Shaqab Racing’s Shamlowl to the 21,00m Purebred Arabian Handicap (75-95) for four-year-old+ contest victory.In the opening race of the day, Al Shahania Stud’s Musandam won the 1400m contest for the Purebred Arabian Maiden Plate for four-year-old.
