The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) launched the first edition of the “Challenge Camp 1”, representing a comprehensive experience that combines educational, skill-developing, physical, and exploratory activities.The camp, in accordance with Qatar’s national values and Islamic teachings, aims to broaden knowledge, deepen the sense of curiosity and exploration, and enhance awareness about the history of Islamic arts for students, a statement said.This camp is organised as part of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting the values of teaching and learning, while also raising awareness of Islamic and artistic culture in Qatar.According to MIA, this camp reflects a partnership with multiple institutions including the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, the Qatar Foundation’s Student Affairs and Community Engagement Department, and the Qatar Calendar House.In a statement, MIA’s Learning and Outreach deputy director Salem Abdulla al-Aswad, said: “As one of many MIA events, “Challenge Camp 1” underscores our efforts in enhancing Qatari youth’s awareness and appreciation of Islamic art and heritage. Through co-operating with esteemed Qatari partners and institutions, we seek to cultivate an inspiring educational environment that ignites curiosity and increases creativity, in addition to preserving our history and adhering to Qatari customs and cultures.”The camp targets Qatar Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Qatari students from sixth to ninth grade from. The camp will also be held on Fridays, until May 17.
