Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) affirmed that the earthquake that struck southwestern Iran Tuesday does not represent any danger to Qatar.In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), an official at Qatar Seismic Network affiliated with the Civil Aviation Authority Ibrahim Khalil Al Youssef explained that earthquakes occur in this region and along the Zagros Mountains are a result of tectonic movements between the Arabian plate and the Iranian plate.Al Youssef reassured the citizens and residents of the State of Qatar that such earthquakes do not represent any danger to Qatar, and that a 5.3-magnitude earthquake is not followed by felt aftershocks inside the State of Qatar.At 09:05:35 am (Doha time), Qatar Seismic Network recorded an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale, southwest of Iran.
