SalamAir records ‘high demand’ for Qatar flights

SalamAir has recorded higher demand for “convenient” and “affordable” travel alternatives following increased air traffic activity between Qatar and Oman, according to the airline’s CEO, captain Mohamed Ahmed.Ahmed made the statement in view of yesterday’s unveiling of SalamAir’s new Doha office, which was opened to meet the rapid growth and continued rise in interest for the Muscat-Doha route. Its Qatar headquarters is located at Building 20, Al Khaldiya Street, Najma.SalamAir, Oman’s first budget airline, launched in November 2017 has five weekly flights from Muscat International Airport to Hamad International Airport. The success of the service stemmed from strong interest from passengers seeking a new route between the two cities, as well as those using it as an onward connection.“The inauguration of this office is a landmark moment in the ongoing progression and expansion of SalamAir and emphasises the strong bond between our organisation and our partners in Doha,” Ahmed said.  He added: “With increasing air traffic and economic activity between Qatar and Oman, the demand for more convenient and affordable alternative is higher than ever and we are proud to be meeting demand with our offering. “As an agile operator we will continue to look at how we enhance this service which is a giant step towards achieving our vision of increasing connectivity to thriving tourism and commercial hubs in the region.” The new route is attracting strong interest because it offers guests convenient timing, affordable travel alternatives, and connectivity to a wider network of destinations, the airline said. Guests can now book their tickets on www.SalamAir.comThe airline added that the opening of the Doha office complements its continued expansion that has resulted in increasing its frequency from and to Doha to reach 14 flights a week and the addition of four new destinations: Najaf, Khartoum, Dhaka, and Kathmandu. The airline also operates flights to Muscat, Salalah, Sohar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, and Shiraz.
