Several agreements to be signed during Amir's visit to Argentina: envoy
Several agreements on various fronts aimed at strengthening Qatar-Argentina relations will be signed during the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Argentina, Argentina's ambassador to Qatar Carlos Hernandez has said.
“We are intending to sign agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoU) in areas such as agro-industry, education, youth co-operation and exchange, sports, visa waiver for Qatari citizens and a ‘Declaration of Intention’ between the city of Buenos Aires and the city of Doha,” the envoy told Gulf Times.Argentina is keen to help Qatar, based on the MoU on agro-industry, in its self-sufficiency efforts to achieve food security, Hernandez said. However, he said that due to the limited time available, the agreement signing “for issues still pending” would be done later.“Some are on the way between our national universities and national libraries plus other matters,” Hernandez pointed out.He described His Highness’ visit as extremely important, allowing several opportunities to open and reaffirming the two countries’ excellent relationship.“Bilateral relations between Qatar and Argentina are on the way to reaching their highest level. We have a tradition of co-operation and friendship and are doing our best, that is my responsibility, to make it more effective and dynamic for the good of both countries,” the envoy said.
