Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, the Gulf Co-operation Council and the Arab Parliament have offered condolences to Qatar following the death of a Qatari citizen killed by shrapnel from military operations in the region.
A resident was injured in the same incident. In a statement Monday, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the kingdom's solidarity with the government and people of Qatar, extending condolences to the family of the deceased and wishing the injured person a speedy recovery.
The UAE voiced similar solidarity, extending condolences to Qatar's government, people and the family of the deceased, and wishing the injured resident, an Arab national, a swift recovery.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi likewise conveyed his sympathies and prayed for the protection of Qatar and its people.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar, rejecting all actions that endanger civilians, and stressed the importance of de-escalation to preserve regional security.
Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Yamahi affirmed his solidarity with Qatar, expressing heartfelt condolences to the victim's family and to the country's government and people.
