Ministry of Awqaf launches english-language Da’wah lessons for non-Arabic speakers
The Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has launched a series of English-language preaching lessons aimed at non-Arabic speaking Muslim communities, as part of efforts to enhance religious awareness and promote a correct understanding of Islamic values.
The sessions have drawn strong attendance from English-speaking participants across mosques in The Pearl, Lusail and Dafna, covering key faith-based and educational topics relevant to daily life, while strengthening spiritual connection and reinforcing Islamic values in practice.
In this context, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Marri, Director of the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, explained that the continuation of these advocacy lessons comes after the outstanding success achieved by the program during the holy month of Ramadan, which confirms the need of the target audience for this type of specialized advocacy program, noting that the center is keen to cover the needs of English-speaking Muslim communities, and to provide advocacy content that suits their cultural and linguistic reality.
He added that the lessons aim to promote a deep understanding of the concepts of obedience, maintaining the relationship with God Almighty after the month of Ramadan, and the importance of investing time and effort in building a righteous relationship with God, which will positively reflect on the individual’s behavior and spiritual and social stability.
The lessons were held at the Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jaber Al Thani Mosque in The Pearl area, the Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Mana Mosque in Lusail area, and the Ibrahim Al Khalil Mosque in Al Dafna area, where they received a positive response from the attendees, who praised the suitability of the topics presented to their reality and needs.
The importance of these preaching lessons lies in the fact that they contribute to strengthening the Islamic identity of Muslims who do not speak Arabic, and enable them to understand the teachings of the Islamic religion in a correct and balanced way. They are also an effective means of bringing the preaching discourse closer to the resident communities, and removing language barriers, which enhances their positive integration into society, and consolidates the values of moderation and coexistence.
