We are experiencing interesting developments in the world. Some are expected, some unexpected and some totally unbelievable. Uncertainty and unpredictability are visible in geo-political and geo-economic fields. At a time when the world is witnessing deepening geopolitical polarity, protracted conflicts and grave violations of international humanitarian law, Qatar has once again demonstrated moral clarity and diplomatic resolve in the pursuit of peace. The leadership of Qatar is steering the country in difficult times with remarkable vision and sagacity. Its tireless mediation for the Gaza ceasefire and now its constructive engagement towards easing tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, reflects Qatar’s principled commitment to dialogue, humanitarianism and regional stability.Under the visionary leadership of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar has emerged as a trusted and credible voice for peace. Following recent Gaza ceasefire, the recent launch of the Humanitarian Aid Land Bridge for Gaza is a powerful manifestation of Qatar’s compassion and commitment.By mobilising over 87,000 shelter tents through QFFD, Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent Society, this initiative has provided safe and dignified shelter to hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians, transforming solidarity into tangible relief.Doha’s stature as a global mediator continues to rise, driven by its principled diplomacy, inclusive engagement and unwavering belief in dialogue as the foundation of peace. Be it the Middle East, South Asia, Africa or elsewhere Qatar’s mediation model stands out for its clear purpose and credibility. Its unique ability to engage with all parties, while maintaining impartiality and moral authority, has made Doha a preferred venue for dialogue and negotiation in what are unprecedented challenging times.Qatar has always sided with peace anywhere in the world. By encouraging dialogue between parties engaged in conflict and reducing tensions, Qatar has contributed to a more peaceful and prosperous world. Besides this, they have also taken a leading role on global issues like social development, climate change, education and poverty reduction etc, thus giving practical manifestation for their desire for peace in the world. They are being seen as value based, ethical and principled partners in peace and development.Pakistan stands in steadfast solidarity with Qatar, deeply appreciating its moral and diplomatic leadership in advancing peace in the Muslim world and beyond. The two visits of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to Doha in September 2025 followed by President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit in November reaffirmed the strength of this brotherly partnership and underscored the shared resolve of both nations to pursue dialogue over division, co-operation over confrontation, justice over discrimination and peace over polarisation.Pakistan pays tribute to Qatar’s exemplary efforts and reaffirms its readiness to continue to work closely with Doha in advancing the cause of peace, justice and human dignity across the region. In a world yearning for moral leadership, Qatar’s voice continues to resonate as a beacon of hope and humanity. Pakistanis treasure their ‘centuries old’ friendship with their Qatari brothers. We strongly believe that we have a shared destiny.Long live Qatar-Pakistan friendship!
