Currently, the China-Qatar relationship is at its highest level in history and has become a model of friendly co-operation between countries."He stressed that "the mutual trust between China and Qatar has continued to deepen. China and Qatar have supported each other on issues which bear on our respective core interests and major concerns."He further stressed that "after Israel attacked Qatar on Sept 9, China strongly condemned the attack and firmly opposed Israel’s violation of Qatar’s territorial integrity and national security. China has also spoken out proactively at international venues like the UN Security Council and Human Rights Council, condemning Israel’s attacks in strong terms and affirming its firm support for Qatar."
He also expressed China's dissatisfaction "with the actions taken by relevant parties to deliberately jeopardise Gaza ceasefire talks and has strongly called on relevant sides, especially Israel, to make an effort to end the fighting and resume talks, instead of the other way around."He hailed the successful and productive co-operation between China and Qatar. He noted that "since 2020, China has remained Qatar’s largest trading partner and top export destination for five consecutive years. The two-way trade volume increased from $10.6bn in 2014 to $24.22bn in 2024, marking a growth of over 128%. It is worth mentioning that Chinese automobiles have gained growing popularity among Qatari families since last year."Regarding the relations on the popular level, he noted that "China-Qatar people-to-people exchanges have become closer and closer. More and more Qatari youth are learning Chinese and loving the Chinese culture. Qatar has become a must-visit destination for Chinese tourists. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Qatar reached 97,000 in 2024, marking a 77% increase year-on-year. The first pair of giant pandas in the Middle East, Suhail and Thuraya, will celebrate the third anniversary of their arrival in Qatar. The two lovely pandas have brought joy and excitement to the Qatari people and foreign tourists. They have become envoys of friendship between the Chinese and Qatari people."The ambassador confirmed that "history and reality have proven that China and Qatar enjoy profound political trust, share similar development philosophies, and have closely aligned interests."He elaborated on the various successes of the Chinese government to improve the lives of its people and alleviate poverty with focus on modernisation and scientific development and technological advancements that benefit the whole world. He said: "On the Chinese path to modernisation, China's international influence is growing steadily. The concept of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity has been included in UN General Assembly resolutions for eight consecutive years. Over three-quarters of countries in the world have joined the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Over 100 countries have supported the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI)."He added: "In the Global Innovation Index 2025 recently released by the World Intellectual Property Organisation, China's global innovation index ranking rose to 10th, highlighting China’s prominent position as a global innovation leader. So far this year, DeepSeek’s model has stunned the global AI community by achieving "major intelligence gains at a minimal cost”; Unitree's synchronised control system enabled remarkably fluid robotic movements. China will strengthen scientific and technological co-operation with countries around the world to benefit the people."
