Club Suisse Doha closes its doors after a successful month with exciting events

After a successful month of operations, Club Suisse Doha (CSD) closed its doors Sunday at Mina District, at the Old Doha Port, the Swiss embassy said.The CSD, inaugurated on November 17 in the context of the participation of the Swiss national football team in the FIFA World Cup 2022, attracted more than 10,000 visitors.During this period, the CSD served as a communication and networking platform bringing together stakeholders from business and sports in a convivial Swiss atmosphere, it was explained in a statement. It was also positioned as a hub for the Qatari population, as well as Swiss and international guests travelling to Doha.The CSD offered a series of cultural, artistic and musical events showcasing the beauty and diversity of Switzerland.In this context, 18 events and 11 concerts were organised. These included performances of renowned Swiss musicians ranging from hip hop to folk. Next door to painter and sculptor Tiziana Mucchiani, Swiss fusion artist David Pflugi was also present in the CSD art atelier to finish his sculpture "The Urge To Win” that was signed by the two teams qualified for the World Cup final.Swiss ambassador Edgar Doerig said: "It was a great pleasure for us to highlight various pieces of Switzerland to the local audience. During the last month, the CSD positioned itself as a place to celebrate Swiss food, culture, innovation, music, art and football."We received high-level delegations, among them HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, as well as many media representatives and influencers. They played an important role in strengthening our visibility and our relations with key players in Doha and the country as a whole."A successful prelude to the upcoming year during which we will be celebrating 50 years of diplomatic relations between our countries. Numerous Swiss and some Qatari companies sponsored the CSD and many used the Club for their own networking events.
