Policemen stop members of the Muslim Khawateen Markaz or Muslim Women Front and relatives of Gulam Mohamed Sopori during a protest in Srinagar yesterday. The protesters demonstrated against the confiscation of separatist leader Ghulam Mohamed Khan Sopori’s residence. The police last month attached Sopori property claiming he had earned the money by acting as a conduit to militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami. Separatists see the government move as a step to harass them.
