Italian marines Latore Massimiliano (second left) and Salvatore Girone appear in a court in Kollam, Kerala, yesterday in connection with the shooting dead of two fishermen who were allegedly mistaken for pirates. The two, who were put up at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Prison since February, were shifted to a Borstal School in Kochi yesterday. The decision to shift the two came after they moved the apex court early this month. The court asked the state government to address their demand for rights and privileges accorded to serving defence personnel of foreign countries if convicted in an alien country, officials said. A Borstal is a reformatory for juveniles.
