Assistant FM meets UK Minister of State for Middle East
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater met Sunday with the visiting Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon, the Minister of State for the Middle East, South Asia and the UN at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations, ways to support and develop them, as well as the latest preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The meeting discussed developments in Afghanistan and Somalia, and a number of regional and international issues of common interest. The meeting affirmed the commitment in strengthening the historic partnership between Qatar and the UK through the strategic dialogue, and co-operation to jointly address common global challenges. The meeting was attended by UK ambassador to Qatar John Wilkes and Charge d'Affaires of the UK Mission to Afghanistan Hugo Shorter.
