The Hayya Card service centre at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) serves 80 persons per minute through 80 counters prepared to serve FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fans, Saeed al-Kuwari, executive director of the Hayya platform at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), has said.Speaking Sunday during the SC's introduction of the Hayya Card service centre to media representatives, al-Kuwari stressed that the Hayya Card is mandatory for all ticketed fans to enter the eight World Cup stadiums and avail of free access to public transport on match days during the tournament. For international fans, the card will serve as an entry permit.Between 1.5mn and 1.7mn people have so far applied for the Hayya Card, according to Saad al-Suwaidi, director of the Hayya Card services centre at DECC.Al-Kuwari noted that two Hayya Card service centres have been opened, one at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre in West Bay and another at Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in Al Sadd Sports Club. The printed card is not mandatory, he pointed out, adding that the digital card enables its holder to benefit from all services after activating it.The World Cup begins on November 20.The main advantage of the Hayya card is that it serves as an entry permit to Qatar and provides free access to public transportation and entry to stadiums, in addition to other services after being activated, al-Kuwari reiterated.On the precautions taken to protect the platform against cyber attacks, al-Kuwari stressed that contracts have been entered into with major international cyber security companies in this regard. He also affirmed that all card-linked technical problems have been resolved since the launch of the platform in March by reviewing the feedback.He noted the "great turnout" of fans to obtain the Hayya Card, adding that all those who meet the conditions for the card have been able to apply for it. The DECC facility provides many services, including technical support and issuance of the printed card.Hayya teams seek to provide full support to fans at the two centres to ensure a smooth experience for everyone, al-Kuwari said.Meanwhile, al-Suwaidi said the card can be obtained at any centre in only two steps, adding that the DECC facility works through the week. The timings are from 10am to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, and from 2pm to 10pm on Fridays.Applications for the Hayya Card can be submitted through the Hayya platform, or through the 'Hayya to Qatar 2022' app on smartphones, which is available in Apple, Google Play and Huawei app stores. To get the card, fans should upload a valid ticket number, personal data, a copy of the passport or ID card, as well as information on their accommodation.The SC is also holding webinars to discuss all the details regarding the submission of Hayya Card applications.
